Twins after miscarriage?

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has conceived twins in the cycle(s) following a miscarriage? I have read some articles which state hyper ovulation is likely, thus twins more likely, but it would be nice to hear your experiences!
TIA

Hey, I had a missed miscarriage (first time mum) in Nov 2019 and found out at the 12 week scan that the baby stopped growing 2 weeks before. We skipped a cycle so I could have a "normal" period and then 4 cycles later I found out I was pregnant (on 30th April). I went to the EPAU yesterday as was having some spotting and feared the worst... and was told I'm having identical twins! So just one egg and one sperm. It's more than likely purely a coincidence but I have also heard about it being more likely to conceive twins after a mc!
What's your situation at the moment? Are you pregnant or ttc?

Ahhh congratulations @MilsCookie you must be so pleased, although I imagine it is bittersweet! How are you feeling? Did you have any signs or feelings that you were having twins? I hope the spotting settles down.
I had a miscarriage and had an MVA on 1st May so hoping I am in the fertile window now. I have always wanted twins and just wondered if it would be more likely now! I don't want to get my hopes up but also love hearing positive stories

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your mc. It's just the most heartbreaking thing to go through. I'm terrified it's going to happen again.
I'm feeling okay but mainly just absolutely exhausted!! Like all I want to do is be horizontal 24/7. And I had no indicitation or clue that it might be twins so when I found out yesterday I was in a major state of shock!!!
Good luck to you in the fertile week - hope you get your BFP this month 🤞🏻🌈 xxx

I've had multiple miscarriages and not conceived twins.....super ovulation is highly highly unlikely and is more of a genetic disposition - eg the old "twins run in the family" (non identical ones) is because you are genetically disposed to releasing more than one egg per cycle and it tends to be inherited ....you are more fertile because your body is apparently primed for pregnancy (unless you have auto immune issues or elevated NK cells).

I got pregnant with identical twins after a mmc. Unfortunately, they too were a mmc (but I think I have NK cells).
I'm pregnant again x4 months after that and got a BFP yesterday- 9 days BEFORE my period is due - so possibly twins again
Identical twins 'runs' in my family: even though it's not genetic some families have a lot of them in. There was x3 sets in my nan's family (she only had one child so no idea if she'd have had some and it's only the women who are affected)
