You may not give the industry a second thought, but trucking makes up a huge part of the transportation industry in the United States. Without trucking companies, Americans wouldn't have mail delivery, online shopping or even fully stocked grocery stores to enjoy. In fact, you could forget about fresh produce, dairy and meat as you embark on your new locally-sourced diet. With that in mind, maybe it's time to thank the 10 largest trucking companies in the United States for their efforts.

UPS

For years, UPS has ranked as one of the top 10 trucking companies in the country. As of 2018, it had almost half a million employees and approximately 98,000 trailers and 18,700 tractors. Headquartered in Sandy Springs, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta, the logistics company focuses on third-party package delivery and supply chain management.
